Our Story
Our story begins in Italy in the late 1950s. At a time in Italian history, where creativity and design from all disciplines were creating some of the finest and most iconic products. The birth of “Made in Italy”. Designers from all around the world were able to dream and have there ideas come to life due to the finest artisanal workshops, along with high-quality modern manufacturers which are beautifully located threw out the Italian countryside.
In this glorious environment, with the aroma of wood and fine leather in the air, a 12 year old boy, my father, Ennio Bergo,
seeing these beautiful works of art leave these prestigious workshops, fell in love. Ennio was captivated with furniture making and the idea of working with nature’s finest materials to create something beautiful and timeless. At 12 years of age, Ennio was able to apprentice at one of the finest artisanal woodworking workshops. Here he learned traditional handcrafted methods, along with modern woodworking techniques of the day. Ennio quickly mastered the art of woodworking, and immediately made a name for himself.
In 1973 Ennio opened up his own studio on the ground floor of his home and Bergo Complementi was born.
He was commissioned and created some of the finest and most beautiful furniture pieces from designers throughout Europe.
In the late 1990s he opened a larger workshop in Brianza.
Brianza was and still is a global center for design and manufacturing of the highest of quality.
My fathers workshop was my playground. A place where I can dream, imagine, and create. While my father was creating fine furniture, I Cristian Bergo, was imagining and building toys. I couldn’t wait to get there everyday after school to build my newest creation.
In 2000 my passion for technology and machinery, such as CNC along with our traditional woodworking mastery has allowed us to explore and create in a grander scale with true precision.
Today, Bergo Complementi is creating without limits and of the highest of quality for major designers and prestigious high-end projects all around the globe.
